National Integration

It means that the difference between different sections of the society should either be forgotten or settled through peaceful methods. The country should not be divided on the bases of caste, religion, language, race or language. This integration is on the realization that we all belong to the same great country. National integration also means that we should think in terms of the country and not our own personal gains.
India is a land of great diversity. We have different languages, religions, creeds and colours. Apart from this, people of different regions have different cultures, customs and manners. Still, there is one main current of culture which e call Indian culture. This feeling of a common Indian culture preserved our unity against all odds in the past.
But from time to time, there have been threats to our national integration. At present also, our country is passing through a difficult period. We are facing a number of problems. Today, we do not think about our country. We think in terms of regional, Religious and racial considerations. There are many threats to our national unity.
The border areas of India are burning. In Kashmir, many people wish to be separated from India. Punjab remained plagued y terrorism for a long, but now, with the grace of the god, peace has now returned back to Punjab. The problem is very serious in Assam, Manipur and the while of north-east. In Assam, Bodo people want a separate Bodoland. In Darjeeling, Gorkhas demand a separate ’Gorkhaland’. In Chennai and Tamilnadu, the L.T.T.E is creating problems for the government. They killed Rajiv Gandhi also. In Andhra Pradesh, the Naxalites are raising their heads.
Some people want to divide the country on the basis of race and religion. In U.P, some fanatic Hindus have demolished the Babri Masjid. They want to build a temple at that place. There is tension between the Hindus and Muslims afterwards. Recently there were Hindu-Muslims in Bombay in which hundreds of people were killed. Communalism is a great evil at present. Our country has suffered much because of this evil.
The need of the hour is peace and communal harmony. We should keep in mind that we are Indians first and Hindus, Muslims or Sikhs afterwards. Our great regions leaders and saints in the past preached the gospel harmony and goodwill. We should remember that India is like rosary and the people of different castes and religions are its beads. Our history tells us that in past we have suffered because of lack of unity. The foreign invaders were able to divide us and then rule over us. They exploited our fanaticism. We should all unite and make our country great. Communalism is a serious threat to our national integration. We should develop a felling of nationalism. Only those countries have progressed which are united. So we should forget our differences and work for the progress of our country.
Certain foreign countries are jealous of our progress. They want to make India a weak and poor nation. So they create disturbances in our country in one way or the other. Pakistan and china are interfering in our internal matters. They help terrorists with the supply of arms and money to be used against our people. They make propaganda against our country. Terrorists have created nuisance in Kashmir and have ruined the paradise which Kashmir once was. India should deal firmly with such elements, only then can our country achieve the goal of real national integration.
